Founding Volunteer Grant Writer
Descripción
Descripción
Women’s Survivors Network is seeking a volunteer grant writer to help us build the funding foundation for our survivor-led nonprofit.
WSN is building a long-term ecosystem of guided support, resources, education, and services for women who have experienced abuse across the spectrum, including coercive control, narcissistic abuse, covert psychological abuse, workplace abuse, familial abuse, institutional abuse, and systemic harm.
We are in our early growth stage and seeking a thoughtful, values-aligned volunteer who can help identify grant opportunities, draft compelling proposals, organize grant materials, and support our funding strategy as we build toward our pilot programs.
Responsibilities
The volunteer grant writer may support with:
- Researching grant opportunities aligned with WSN’s mission, values, and stage of growth
- Drafting letters of inquiry, grant proposals, narratives, and application responses
- Helping organize reusable grant language, program descriptions, budgets, and attachments
- Tracking deadlines, requirements, submission status, and follow-up needs
- Supporting the development of clear language around WSN’s mission, programs, impact, and long-term vision
- Collaborating with WSN leadership to understand program priorities and funding needs
Ideal Volunteer
We are looking for someone who is:
- A strong, clear, and emotionally intelligent writer
- Comfortable translating vision and program ideas into funder-facing language
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to track deadlines
- Respectful of survivor-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive work
- Able to receive feedback and collaborate with care
- Interested in systems change, survivor justice, community care, and long-term healing
Prior grant writing experience is helpful, but not required if you have strong writing skills and a willingness to learn.
Time Commitment
Flexible, remote volunteer role. We are especially interested in someone who can support on an ongoing basis as grant opportunities arise.
Why This Role Matters
Grant funding will help WSN build the infrastructure, partnerships, and programs needed to support survivors beyond crisis — through awakening, stabilizing, healing, rebuilding, and leadership.
This is a meaningful opportunity to help shape the early funding foundation of a survivor-led organization working to create long-term, systemic change.

Please submit your resume and answer the short screening question so we can understand your interest in WSN and this role. A formal cover letter is not required.
We'll reach back out as soon as possible to schedule a call where we'll assess fit. We're hoping, especially, to work with other survivors of relational or workplace harm, who know from personal experience why WSN would be necessary in the world.
