Volunteer with Pierce Conservation District and the Harvest Pierce County team at the 2026 Seed Swap and play a key role in promoting food security and sovereignty in our community! All participants are encouraged to bring seeds to share, especially those saved from home or community gardening or small scale farming.
This year's event will be held on Sunday, February 1st, and we're looking for volunteers to help with an assortment of roles. If you're interested in joining the seed swap fun, please review the event and position descriptions below and use the provided link to register for your preferred job.
Event Details
- Date: Sunday, February 1st, 2026
- Location: Pioneer Park Pavilion - 330 S Meridian, Puyallup, WA 98371
- Total Time Commitment: 10:30 AM - 4 PM (5.5 hours total)
- Main event will be from 12 - 3 PM. All necessary training will happen during set up.
- Set up: 10:30 AM - 12 PM
- Clean up: 3 - 4 PM
Volunteer Positions & Responsibilities
- Welcome Table Greeters (x2): Set up welcome table, greet attendees and make sure folks sign in before directing them on where to go. Greeters will also help with crowd control to keep the food and seed lines separate.
- Refreshment Runner (x2): Set up and stock food and drink tables, clean up kitchen and tables at the end of the event.
- Seed Table Supervisor (x3): Set up seed tables, receive and sort seeds from attendees, check bin inventories, stock seed envelopes and seeds, organize bulk seeds.
- Refuse & Recycling Supervisor (x1 - role filled, but could use alternate): Label bins for Trash/Landfill, Compost, and Recycling, direct attendees on proper disposal, take out trash and load compost/recycling into vehicle(s) for disposal at PCD.
