The Starfish Mentoring Program empowers youth ages 11-24 who are at risk, vulnerable, or have experienced commercial sexual exploitation. By providing consistent, compassionate mentorship, this program helps youth build healthy relationships and take steps toward self-efficacy, healing, and empowered living.
Each mentee is thoughtfully matched with a trained mentor who has completed trauma-informed training and a comprehensive background check. Mentors commit to meeting one-on-one with their youth weekly for a minimum of one year-offering stability, encouragement, and support along their healing journey.
Mentorship takes place in the community, including in foster care or facility placements, and complements the wraparound services youth may already be receiving. As part of a larger continuum of care, Starfish Mentoring plays a critical role in reducing victimization and supporting healthy reintegration into society.
