Homeless Connect Day

Please note: Expressing interest is not confirmation of signing up for event. You must sign up on LAFH website.

YOUR ACTIVITY: Volunteers will support LAFH staff with one of the following tasks: greeting attendees and guiding them through the various vendors and stations that are available at the event, handing out in-kind supplies from the LAFH table, this could include various items like backpacks, hygiene items, PPE gear, clothing, etc., setting up and/or breaking down the event tables and tents, and engaging with attendees while they wait in line for services, any other small tasks needed by staff (e.g. as a runner).

Upon arrival, you will check in with an LAFH staff member who will give you your assignment for the day.

YOUR IMPACT: Provide quality service by handing out essentials like socks, clothes, hygienic products, and food to those who may not otherwise have access to them. You can also help to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where people can gather and connect.

• Shift 1: 8:00am-12:00pm
• Shift 2: 9:00pm-1:00pm

When: Typically, once a month on a Thursday. Location changes each month. Typically held in the San Fernando Valley.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be 18+
• Must complete Volunteer Seminar + Training
• Must be able to lift 15 pounds or more
• Must sign up at least 72 hours in advance
• Dress code: Comfortable clothes, sun protection, and closed-toed shoes. Remember, we will be outside under a canopy.

We do not fulfill court-ordered volunteer hours.
