Are you a motivated individual looking to make a difference? Join us as a Volunteer Relations Coordinator at our Concord, San Jose, and Oakland ReStores! This is a fantastic opportunity for college students to gain valuable experience in leadership and management while contributing to a meaningful cause. In this vital role, you'll help recruit and cultivate volunteers, building a new Volunteer Program to support our mission. If you have leadership experience or love working with people, this opportunity is perfect for you! Training will be provided by management, and even beginner knowledge of leadership or management is valuable.
Responsibilities:
- Develop a unique Volunteer Program for each store
- Recruit volunteers from schools, retirement communities, courts, etc.
- Educate volunteers about the Habitat Mission and ReStore Vision
- Supervise and assign projects to volunteers
- Track project progress and key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Use power and hand tools comfortably
Requirements:
- Knowledge of and commitment to Habitat for Humanity's philosophy
- Ability to work closely with ReStore staff, volunteers, homeowners, and customers
- Quick learner and comfortable asking questions
- Self-sufficient and cooperative attitude
- Attention to detail
- Ability to bend, squat, and lift at least 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Commitment to a long-term role after a 3-4 week "audition" period
- Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills
Training:
On-site training provided by a ReStore manager. Most volunteers are fully trained within one month.
When:
- 4-7 hour shifts per day, flexible days and hours.

- Oakland ReStore: Mon-Sat
