Descripción
The Volunteer Executive Director provides leadership and operational oversight for Independent Living Housing Inc. and works closely with the Founder, Board of Directors, volunteers, community partners, and stakeholders to advance the organization's mission of empowering students and adults with learning disabilities.Reporting Structure
Reports to the Founder & President and Board of Directors.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in implementing the organization’s mission, vision, and goals.
- Help develop strategic plans for program growth and sustainability.
- Support educational, leadership, vocational, and life-skills programs.
- Recruit, train, and support volunteers.
- Build relationships with schools, businesses, and community organizations.
- Promote awareness of programs and services through outreach efforts.
- Assist with fundraising, donor relations, and grant research.
- Support marketing, public relations, and social media activities.
- Maintain organizational records and assist with compliance requirements.
- Represent the organization at community meetings and events.
Qualifications
- Experience in nonprofit management, education, communications, marketing, public relations, human services, or a related field.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations.
- Passion for supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
- Fundraising, grant-writing, or volunteer-management experience is a plus.
