Finance & Operations
Bookkeeper / Finance Manager
Provide leadership and oversight of BSLS’s national and chapter-level financial systems.
Responsibilities: Develop and monitor financial reporting and forecasting processes, oversee projects by finance manager and interns, develop budgets and reconciliation, ensure compliance with nonprofit fiscal policies, contribute to grant and conference budgets, and help strengthen financial controls.
Experience: Background in nonprofit accounting, bookkeeping, or financial oversight preferred; proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel, or Airtable; attention to detail and ability to train volunteers.
Finance Intern
Assist with national and chapter-level budgeting, reporting, and compliance activities.
Responsibilities: Support chapter treasurers in preparing budgets and reports; assist in maintaining financial records for grants and events; contribute to fiscal responsibility initiatives.
Experience: Studying finance, accounting, or nonprofit management; basic familiarity with spreadsheets or bookkeeping software a plus; eager to learn and contribute.
Administrative Assistant/Secretary
Provide logistical, scheduling, and operational support to the BSLS National Team.
Responsibilities: Manage calendars, schedule and document meetings, assist with communications, organize files and shared drives, and support team follow-ups on projects and deadlines.
Experience: Highly organized and responsive; experience with Google Suite, Canva, and virtual scheduling tools; excellent written communication and time management skills.
Programming & Membership Director of Membership
Oversee national member recruitment, engagement strategies, and alumni relations.
Responsibilities: Develop and track national and chapter member recruitment plans, create incentive and recognition systems, maintain roster accuracy, and support alumni connections.
Experience: Experience with student associations, member-based nonprofits, or alumni relations; strong community-building and volunteer coordination skills.
Director of Events
Lead planning and execution of BSLS’s national conference, summits, and fundraising events.
Responsibilities: Develop annual event calendars, manage event logistics and vendors, coordinate with marketing and special events teams, oversee both virtual and in-person event execution.
Experience: Event planning, hospitality, or conference logistics; strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Special Events Team
Support the behind-the-scenes production of BSLS national and regional events.
Responsibilities: Assist with vendor outreach, setup, volunteer assignments, and on-site coordination; contribute to event run-of-show and issue resolution.
Experience: Prior event or conference coordination preferred; adaptable and team-oriented.
Community Service Manager
Lead BSLS’s national community service and volunteer impact initiatives.
Responsibilities: Build and manage a national service calendar, develop partnerships with nonprofits and civic organizations, track chapter service engagement, and support volunteer mobilization.
Experience: Civic engagement, volunteer coordination, or campus service leadership; excellent partnership-building skills.
Community Service Coordinator / Intern
Assist with service initiatives at chapter and national levels.
Responsibilities: Help organize service activities, track participation, and connect chapters with civic partners.

Environmental Coordinator
Promote environmental responsibility and sustainability initiatives nationally.

Marketing, Media & Storytelling Content Strategist / Director of Marketing
Shape BSLS’s national storytelling and digital presence.
Responsibilities: Build and oversee the national marketing calendar, design campaigns, create consistent voice and tone, train chapter social media leads, and monitor reach and engagement.
Experience: Communications, creative strategy, or nonprofit marketing background; strong vision for digital storytelling.
Digital Marketing & Media Communications
Create and manage social, visual, written, and video content.
Responsibilities: Support national and chapter content creation, align with monthly themes, provide event coverage, monitor analytics and engagement.
Experience: Graphic design, video editing, social media management; familiarity with Canva, Meta Suite, or similar tools.
Publicist / PR Lead
Manage internal and external communications for BSLS.
Responsibilities: Write press releases, build and maintain media lists, manage media outreach and event coverage, track press results.
Experience: PR, journalism, or media relations; strong writing and relationship-building skills.
Culture, Inclusion & Merchandising Equity & Access Coordinator
Champion inclusive engagement, cultural awareness, and access initiatives.
Responsibilities: Coordinate DEI trainings, support inclusive recruitment strategies, and facilitate community dialogues.
Experience: DEI background or lived experience from underrepresented groups; excellent facilitation skills.
E-Commerce / Merchandising Coordinator
Lead national BSLS merchandise strategy for branding and fundraising.
Responsibilities: Coordinate merch design, production, launches and aligned with our branding style guide.
Experience: E-commerce, fashion, or nonprofit merchandising experience preferred.
Development & Growth Fundraising Coordinator
Lead national fundraising initiatives and donor engagement strategies.
Responsibilities: Develop and execute giving campaigns, coordinate peer-to-peer fundraising, assist with sponsorship outreach.

Outreach Coordinator

Newsletter Writer

Overview:
BSLS is seeking a skilled and creative Newsletter Writer to support our bi-monthly email communications. This role will help amplify our impact, highlight member and alumni stories, promote events and initiatives, and inspire community engagement across 26+ chapters nationwide.
Responsibilities:
Draft engaging, mission-aligned newsletters twice per month using provided content themes, updates, and highlights
Collaborate with program, events, and marketing teams to gather relevant content
Write compelling subject lines, headers, and calls to action
Ensure consistent voice, formatting, and readability across all newsletters
Coordinate with the graphics team or use Canva to suggest visual assets as needed
Support the development of newsletter campaigns tied to events, fundraising, and special features
Experience:
Strong writing and editing skills with a focus on clarity, storytelling, and emotional engagement
Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Beehiiv, Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.)
Ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences including students, alumni, donors, and partners
Collaborative mindset and comfort working with multiple departments and stakeholders
Bonus if you have experience writing for nonprofits or cause-driven brands
