Fundraising and Grants Mentor (Remote, NC)

Help SCORE Raleigh secure the funding that keeps free mentoring available to North Carolina entrepreneurs.

    About SCORE Raleigh

SCORE Raleigh is a volunteer-led chapter of SCORE, a nonprofit resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration. We provide free mentoring and education to entrepreneurs across North Carolina. Our volunteers serve as certified mentors and also lead a part of the chapter, so every member has ownership in how it runs.

    What you will do

    • Mentor small business owners as a certified SCORE mentor
    • Research and pursue grants, sponsorships, and in-kind support aligned with chapter priorities
    • Draft grant narratives and sponsorship requests, and track deadlines and reporting in HubSpot
    • Attend the biweekly district fundraising meeting, which is included in your weekly hours
    • Submit nothing without the required district approval; the team works inside SCORE policy
    • Attend monthly chapter meetings and fundraising team meetings

    Who fits

    • Experience starting, running, or advising a small business in the United States
    • Fundraising, grant writing, sponsorship, or nonprofit development experience
    • Strong writing, research, and deadline management
    • Willingness to serve at least 12 months

    Time commitment

About 10 hours per week on average, including mentoring, role duties, and the biweekly district meeting. Some weeks run higher around grant deadlines.

    Location and format

Remote, North Carolina. We meet virtually each month and in person quarterly. Attendance at chapter meetings is required.
