Front Desk Operations

At the Hospital Hospitality House of Saginaw, we offer a comforting, home-like environment for patients and families from out of town seeking medical care in our community. As a volunteer with us, you’ll play a key role in helping to keep this house of compassion running smoothly, and you’ll make a real difference in the lives of our guests during challenging times. Whether you’re answering calls, greeting guests, or lending a hand in our kitchen, you’ll be part of a team that makes a lasting impact.

We currently have available time slots Monday-Friday any time between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We have multiple opportunities available based on your interests:

Front Desk Tasks:

• Clean and sanitize common areas in the house.
• Open door for guests.
• Answer phone calls and help guests over the phone.
• Greet and assist guests as they arrive.
• Help with other office tasks as needed.

Kitchen and Cooking Tasks:

• Bake cookies and cakes.
• Cook dinner for guests when necessary.
• Keep common areas clean and tidy.

Other Tasks Within Our House:

• Clean and sanitize common areas in the house.
• Sweeping and vacuuming.
• Wash and fold laundry.
• Restock linen closets.

Essential Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to maintain a professional appearance and interact positively with guests.
• Friendly and helpful when interacting with guests.
• Work independently and do a great job without constant supervision.
• Able to prioritize tasks and handle multiple things at once.

Volunteer Expectations:

• Keep guest confidentiality in mind at all times.
• Arrive punctually for scheduled shifts and help maintain our standard of care.

Volunteers must be at least 15 years old. We welcome individuals with disabilities and will provide reasonable accommodations to help you succeed.
