    Descripción

    The Strategic Opportunity

    The opportunity for the new Executive Director is to build upon our strong operational foundation and evolve our impact. This is a high-impact, uncompensated volunteer opportunity for a dedicated leader to shape the future of our rescue and make a lasting difference. The key imperatives for the next 1-3 years are:

    1. Diversify Funding: Currently, over 50% of our revenue comes from adoption fees. The ED will lead the charge to create a more resilient and diversified funding model by significantly growing our individual donor base and developing new revenue streams.
    2. Champion Community Programs: Solidify and expand our proactive initiatives, such as the "Fix your Pit" spay/neuter program and new surrender-prevention strategies, to keep beloved dogs in their homes.
    3. Solve for our Most Vulnerable: Develop and champion innovative strategies to find loving homes for our long-term residents and "hard to adopt" dogs, ensuring no dog is left behind.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Strategic Leadership & Vision
    • Collaborate with the Board of Directors to set, drive, and execute the organization's strategic plan, with a focus on the key imperatives listed above.
    • Act as the primary liaison between the Board and the volunteer management team, ensuring clear communication and alignment on strategic goals.
    • Prepare and present comprehensive reports on organizational progress, key metrics, and challenges at bi-monthly board meetings.
    1. Financial Growth & Sustainability
    • In partnership with the Treasurer, provide oversight for the organization's annual budget (currently $100k-$120k).
    • Develop and lead the implementation of a fundraising strategy to diversify revenue streams, reducing reliance on adoption fees.
    • Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with major donors, community partners, and corporate sponsors.
    1. Programmatic & Operational Guidance
    • Provide high-level leadership and mentorship to the volunteer management team, empowering them to run daily operations effectively.
    • Champion and secure funding for key community programs, including "Fix your Pit" and surrender prevention initiatives.
    • Provide strategic guidance to the marketing and adoption teams to create innovative campaigns for our long-term resident dogs.
    1. Community Engagement & Public Advocacy
    • Serve as the primary spokesperson and public ambassador for Save-A-Bull Rescue.
    • Act as a passionate advocate for bully breeds, working to challenge public stereotypes and promote responsible ownership within the community.
    • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with other animal welfare organizations, community leaders, and key stakeholders to advance our mission.

    Qualifications

    • A deep and demonstrated passion for animal welfare and a commitment to advocating for bully-breed dogs.
    • Proven leadership experience, preferably in non-profit management or a senior volunteer leadership role.
    • A successful track record in fundraising, with specific experience in individual donor development highly desirable.
    • High-level strategic thinking with the ability to translate a vision (e.g., surrender prevention) into an actionable, funded plan.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to inspire a volunteer team, engage major donors, and represent the organization publicly.
    • Resilient and creative problem-solver, especially when faced with challenges like finding homes for "hard to adopt" animals.
