Join a growing non-profit that helps victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and sex trafficking with transportation to emergency shelters and family for life-long security and recovery. Meetings are hybrid (conducted in-person and virtual), every other month, typically on weekday evenings. The ideal Board member will be able to contribute to advancing our non-profit goal's of financial sustainability for our Houston office, building connections to reduce program costs, and help the Board of Directors make decisions that lead towards lasting viability.

To ensure the best experience for you and the organization, we present the following Board expectations:

    • Willingness to serve a two-year term, which is renewable. For Board Treasurer, we ask for a three-year commitment.
    • Attend a majority of meetings, no less than 5 out of 6.
    • Contribute towards the Houston office program expenses with a goal of giving and/or soliciting a minimum of $2,000.00 per year. This may be a personal gift from you, as well as gifts influenced by you.
    • Share the burden of the responsibility for the ongoing development of the organization through participation in policy discussions, financial planning, public accountability, and risk mitigation.

Board training consists of an in-person meeting with the founder to discuss the organization's history, a review of our digital reporting and data platform, an overview of programs and policies, followed by signing agreements. Being a survivor or child witness to abuse or prior work with victim services is not required, but certainly welcomed.

    Annual Budget: 1,100,000

Nonprofit Mission: Our mission is to transport victims of domestic abuse to safety. Our vision is to create healthy communities by ending abuse across America. By helping people break free from domestic abuse, we can stop the cycle. The children we travel with have the most to gain through living in a more loving, supportive environment so they can get counseling, support and modeling for a more peaceful adult life. This breaks the cycle of abuse for them. Our long-term vision is to serve all of Texas and beyond. Until we have the funds to expand to other cities, we are limited to serving survivors leaving from the North Texas, portions of East Texas, and the surrounding greater Houston area.
