Our organization promotes reading through fantasy events. We are an all volunteer run nonprofit with 2 major events each year-the Dragon Egg Hunt in May and the School of Magic in the fall. We also host smaller events at libraries and schools throughout the year. We are looking for a volunteer to help with marketing our free events.
The role would suit a person looking to gain experience in marketing in the nonprofit sector, and/or someone seeking work experience before returning to work after a career break.
The role would provide opportunities to get involved in varied and interesting aspects of marketing, including campaigns, website administration, event planning and social media management working with and reporting to the board of directors.
Time Commitment: Approximately one day per week
Core responsibilities
- Strategy and planning: Develop and execute marketing strategies, including planning promotional campaigns, advertising (digital, print, etc.), and content calendars.
- Market research and analysis: Analyze local markets to understand customer needs and opportunities, and use data to inform decisions and measure campaign effectiveness.
- Campaign execution: Oversee the execution of marketing campaigns, including developing creative briefs, coordinating with media organizations, and ensuring brand messaging is consistent across all channels.

- Communication: Strong verbal and written skills for presenting strategies, collaborating with team members, and engaging with customers.
