    Descripción

Are you a strategic growth expert ready to fuel a mission that changes lives? At the Veteran Project Manager Mentor Alliance (VPMMA), we are a 100% volunteer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to pioneering the future success of service members, veterans, and their spouses through project management mentorship. We are seeking a dynamic Director of Fundraising and Strategic Alliances to join our "working board" and drive the financial sustainability required to empower our Alliance Heroes.

    What You'll Do (Impact: 15–20 Hours/Month)

As a key leader within the Strategic Partnership and Initiative Directorate, you will bridge the gap between our mission and the resources needed to achieve it.

    • Fundraising Strategy: Develop and implement targeted plans to secure funding aligned with our high-level growth goals.
    • Grant Management: Lead the identification of grant opportunities and oversee proposal development to support our veteran career programs.
    • Donor Stewardship: Collaborate with the Treasurer to manage donor relationships, ensuring transparency, ethical engagement, and maximized contributions.
    • Corporate Partnerships & Sponsorships: Cultivate strategic relationships with corporate stakeholders and create compelling proposals to secure sponsorships for VPMMA initiatives.
    • Strategic Oversight: Maintain an organized database of potential funders and provide regular progress updates to the Executive Board.
    • Ethical Compliance: Ensure all activities adhere to the highest nonprofit governance standards and VPMMA's ethical guidelines.

    Who You Are

    • Experienced Advocate: You have a proven track record in partnerships, fundraising, or business development, preferably within the nonprofit sector.
    • Strategic Thinker: You can identify and pursue opportunities that align with our mission to provide training and mentorship to the military community.
    • Relationship Builder: You possess excellent interpersonal skills and can build strong ties with diverse stakeholders, from individual donors to corporate executives.
    • Mission-Aligned Leader: You understand the unique challenges veterans face during transition and are committed to our values of Commitment, Empowerment, Community, and Advocacy.

    The Board Commitment

This is a high-impact leadership role within a Working Board structure.

    • Term: You will serve a two-year term, contributing to our long-term financial health.
    • Time: Dedicate approximately 15–20 hours per month to board activities and initiatives.
    • Responsiveness: Maintain professional communication and typically respond to internal and external inquiries within 24 hours.
    • Support: You will lead initiatives and be supported by Staff Volunteers to help execute your strategic vision.

    Why Join Us?

    • Professional Development: Gain leadership experience in a governance role and access resources like Google Certificates on Coursera.
    • Networking: Connect with a nationwide network of project management professionals and veteran advocates.
    • Fulfillment: Directly enable veterans and spouses to pursue lucrative, meaningful careers in project management.
