Bilingual Interpreter

ECN Purpose is seeking bilingual volunteers to serve as interpreters, providing real-time language translation between optometrists and clients during community health fairs, vision screenings, and eye exams. Ideal candidates are compassionate, respectful of confidentiality, and able to communicate clearly and empathetically. Mobile eye care events are generally 3-4 hours in duration and staffed by optometrists, optometric student technicians, and ECN Purpose personnel. Events vary in terms of the day of the week and time, and are held throughout Orange County. Knowledge of the eye care profession or terminology is not required. Other volunteer opportunities include translating ECN Purpose’s educational material from English to other languages spoken within our community. You have the flexibility to volunteer with ECN Purpose whenever your schedule allows - quarterly, semiannually, or annually.
