Position Overview: The Community Outreach Planner & Coordinator will lead the design, planning, and execution of HTC’s monthly and quarterly community outreach programs. This volunteer will establish partnerships with neighborhood leaders, faith-based organizations, local nonprofits, and community stakeholders while mobilizing volunteers and coordinating community events, the ideal candidate is passionate about community service and able to dedicate 10–15 hours per week.
Ideal for social-work professionals, public-health graduates, and community organizers who are passionate about community engagement and transformational outreach efforts. This volunteer will help HTC bring responsive care directly into underserved neighborhoods.
Key Responsibilities:
- Community Outreach Planning & Program Development
- Design, schedule, and coordinate monthly and quarterly outreach programs.
- Develop outreach themes focused on healthcare access, employment training, family support, and rural community assistance.
- Create program timelines, logistics plans, and volunteer task lists.
- Community Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with neighborhood leaders, clergy, local nonprofits, civic groups, and community advocates.
- Participate in community meetings, forums, and events to represent HTC.
- Maintain communication with partners to align outreach goals.
- Event Coordination & Management
- Oversee event setup, operations, volunteer assignments, and program flow.
- Secure locations, permits, supplies, guest speakers, and outreach materials.
- Ensure all outreach activities follow HTC policies and safety protocols.
- Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement
- Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers for outreach programs.
- Prepare volunteer briefs outlining responsibilities and schedules.
- Ensure volunteers have materials, roles, and supervision during events.
- Outreach Data Collection & Reporting
- Track participation numbers, program outcomes, and community feedback.
- Maintain detailed records of outreach locations, partners, and attendees.
- Support writing reports and summaries for HTC leadership and funders.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
- Experience in event planning, public relations, community engagement, or social services.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate with diverse communities and community leaders.
- Comfortable managing volunteers and coordinating group efforts.
- Strong organizational and logistics planning skills.
