Founded in 2023, Shock Elite Academy is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering and inspiring young people to reach their full potential on and off the court. Based in Durham, we provide youth with opportunities in basketball, music, technology, and personal development. Our mission is to foster growth, discipline, leadership, and teamwork while creating a positive and inclusive community for athletes.

Position Overview

Shock Elite Academy is seeking passionate Basketball Coaches to join our team. Coaches will lead and support practices, mentor athletes, and help shape the next generation of leaders through basketball and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead youth basketball practices, drills, and conditioning sessions
• Teach fundamentals, teamwork, sportsmanship, and discipline
• Serve as a mentor and role model for players ages 8–16
• Collaborate with fellow coaches and staff to deliver a positive, safe, and inclusive experience
• Support the holistic development of athletes both on and off the court

Qualifications

• Experience in coaching, playing, or training basketball (preferred)
• Passion for youth development and mentorship
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Ability to commit to weekend practices and games (December – July season)
• CPR/First Aid certification (a plus, not required)
