Thread & Promise, MAP’s fashion and social-impact design initiative, creates apparel and accessories that uplift youth voices, challenge stereotypes, and raise awareness about the realities of housing instability. Through ethical fashion, community storytelling, and mission-driven design, Thread & Promise blends creativity with purpose.
About the Role
We are seeking a Fashion Marketing Manager to lead brand storytelling, campaign development, and digital marketing strategy for Thread & Promise. This role is ideal for someone with strong fashion marketing expertise who wants to use creativity, design, and culture to spark impact and bring visibility to a mission-driven brand.
The Fashion Marketing Manager will collaborate with designers, photographers, stylists, content creators, youth storytellers, and MAP’s Communications Team to develop campaigns that blend fashion, advocacy, and narrative power.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop marketing and branding strategies to promote the Thread & Promise fashion line.
- Lead creative direction for campaigns, lookbooks, editorial shoots, and digital content.
- Collaborate with designers, stylists, photographers, videographers, and youth artists to produce cohesive fashion stories.
- Manage social media strategies that elevate the brand across Instagram, YouTube, Threads, TikTok, and other platforms.
- Oversee messaging, brand voice, and content calendars for fashion-focused digital campaigns.
- Support e-commerce storytelling through product descriptions, visuals, and mission-driven messaging.
- Analyze engagement trends, consumer behavior, and online metrics to refine marketing strategies.
- Coordinate launch plans for apparel drops, capsule collections, and limited-edition collaborations.
- Ensure fashion content aligns with MAP’s mission, ethical values, and youth-centered storytelling approach.
- Check and respond to emails daily, with responses within 48 hours.
- Take responsibility for performance improvement by refining strategies based on data, feedback, and campaign outcomes.
Qualifications
- Experience in fashion marketing, brand management, digital marketing, or creative direction.
- Strong understanding of fashion industry trends, marketing strategies, and visual storytelling.
- Familiarity with social media algorithms, content strategy, and community engagement.
- Excellent writing, communication, and creative collaboration skills.
- Ability to work with photographers, designers, stylists, and content creators.
- Commitment to ethical fashion, youth empowerment, and social-impact storytelling.
Bonus Skills (not required)
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design tools.
- Experience in e-commerce, fashion PR, or retail marketing.
- Knowledge of sustainable fashion, slow fashion, or community-centered brand building.
- Bilingual or multilingual skills.
Commitment
- Volunteer role requiring 5–10 hours per week.
- Minimum 6-month commitment preferred.
- Hybrid structure: remote with optional in-person creative sessions or fashion shoots in NYC.
