HOPE North Carolina is building inclusive communities where people of all ages and abilities experienced a sense of belonging. We have two projects, one in Durham and one in Raleigh, that we support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live integrated into a neighborhood with people without disabilities. Our third project opens in Chapel Hill in spring 2026. We have opportunities for volunteers within those communities and also we hold wider community events to invite the broader community to socialize with people of all abilities. Volunteers are needed to help with set up, activities and clean up but also just to build friendships with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
