While often overlooked, hygiene poverty is an issue experienced by families with limited incomes. When income is stretched thin, families are forced to choose between paying the rent, keeping food on the table, and purchasing hygiene products like dish soap and laundry detergent. At Home for Families, we do our best to ease the financial strain on the families we serve by providing them with self-care items, pantry food, and cleaning products so that they can focus on attaining the financial and housing security they work so hard for.
Help Home for Families receive a large donation of laundry detergent; we are expecting over 1,500 bottles of detergent, so we need all hands on deck! Volunteers will assist in assembly-lining the bottles off the pallets and into the basement. Please be prepared to walk up/down one flight of stairs.
This event will be taking place at our community partner building, Jefferson Apartments. For tenant safety, the building is kept locked at all times. Please plan to arrive promptly at 10:00 am so staff can meet you at the front of the building.
