    About The TheoRose Center, Inc.

The TheoRose Center, Inc. is a startup non-profit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive case management, training, and referral services to financially disadvantaged youths and their families. Our mission is to help this population escape the bonds of poverty and homelessness by providing vital referrals for housing, medical, mental health, and back-to-school opportunities. Through essential training and life skills development, we empower individuals to successfully move into the mainstream of society and achieve lasting stability.

    Role Overview

As a startup, we are building our foundation from the ground up. We are seeking passionate, hands-on, and strategic leaders to join our Board of Directors as regular board members. If you want to use your professional expertise to build a brand-new organization that directly impacts the community, we want to hear from you.

We are specifically seeking individuals with expertise in financial governance, grant writing, or fundraising to help launch and scale our programs.

    Specific Board Roles Needed

    1. Board Treasurer / Finance Lead
    • The Focus: Establish and oversee the startup’s financial health and fiscal compliance.
    • Responsibilities: Set up standard financial reporting processes, assist in preparing our foundational annual operating budget, ensure early-stage tax compliance, and present regular financial updates to the board.
    • Ideal Skills: Background in accounting, bookkeeping, corporate finance, or nonprofit financial management.
    1. Grant Writing & Strategy Lead
    • The Focus: Build our very first funding pipeline by identifying and securing institutional support.
    • Responsibilities: Research startup-friendly foundation, corporate, and government grant opportunities; help draft high-impact grant proposals; and assist in tracking compliance and reporting requirements.
    • Ideal Skills: Professional experience in technical writing, grant research, copywriting, or institutional fundraising.
    1. Fundraising & Development Chair
    • The Focus: Drive early community donor engagement and grassroots giving campaigns.
    • Responsibilities: Design and spearhead creative fundraising campaigns, cultivate relationships with local businesses and individual donors, and help plan community awareness events to put our name on the map.
    • Ideal Skills: Experience in sales, donor relations, event planning, marketing, or community organizing.

    General Governance Responsibilities

    • Foundational Oversight: Actively participate in early-stage strategic planning, budgeting, and organizational building.
    • Act as an Ambassador: Share the mission of The TheoRose Center, Inc. within your professional and personal networks to build community awareness.
    • Commit to Equity: Champion programs that directly empower disadvantaged youth and families to overcome systemic barriers.

    Commitment & Terms

    • Term Length: 2-year term.
    • Meetings: Monthly virtual board meetings, plus occasional committee work.
    • Time Required: Approximately 8-10 hours per month, varying based on current projects.
