Team Leadership Workshop

Without exception, organizations today are in need of workers who can organize others effectively and fairly. Despite this, schools generally do not teach this vital career skill. To address this gap, George Street Co-op, a cooperative NJ nonprofit founded on non-coercive and egalitarian teamwork, now has openings for its Team Leadership Workshop.

During the course of our six-month program, you will be trained in everything needed to coordinate a real-world team of 3–5 volunteers in setting and achieving a shared set of measurable real-world goals. To prepare you to thrive with these responsibilities, training will come in the form of group sessions alongside your fellow leadership trainees, along with individualized guidance from accomplished team leaders at the Co-op.

At the conclusion of the six-month program, trainees will receive a certificate documenting their accomplishments. Selected trainees will be offered the opportunity for higher-level training, depending on their interests and goals.

Applicants must already be well-versed in Google Docs, Google Spreadsheets, and Google Calendar, and should be comfortable communicating via email, text message, phone call, and video conferencing (e.g. Zoom).

Between group and individual training sessions, team meetings, and followup communications to team members, you should budget 3–5 hours per week throughout your participation in this program.
