By volunteering as an End-of-Life Doula, you will play a vital role in providing comfort and dignity to individuals and families during one of life's most profound experiences. Your presence can make a meaningful difference.
Role Overview:
As an End-of-Life Doula Volunteer you will:
- Provide emotional, spiritual, and psychological support to patients and their families
- Offer companionship and a calming presence during the end-of-life journey
- Assist in creating meaningful legacy projects, such as memory books or letters
- Support families in planning and facilitating the final days, including rituals and goodbyes
- Provide respite care for caregivers
- Offer guidance on post-death arrangements and grief support
Note: This role does not involve medical care or Spiritual counseling. Volunteers are trained to provide non-judgmental, supportive presence.
Qualifications:
- Completion of End-of-Life Doula Training (or willingness to complete the training)
- Comfort and composure in the presence of death.
- Strong listening and Communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect diverse backgrounds
