The People’s Table was launched in November as a collaborative initiative between Hutch in Harmony (HIH) and Wisdom in Motion (WIM) to address the need for weekend bulk meals for community members. Rooted in care, dignity, and mutual aid, The People's Table brings together volunteers, families, and youth to prepare and share meals that help bridge food access gaps when support is often hardest to find. Through collective effort and community partnerships, they aim to ensure our neighbors feel supported, nourished, and not alone.
Duties:
Volunteers are needed that are willing and able to cook a bulk meal (ideas include spaghetti, baked dishes, chili, soups, pasta, etc.) in aluminum or plastic containers. Meals can be in one large pan or pot or already divided up. Meals are for 5-10 people. Volunteers will drop off meals at Living Hope Free Will Baptist Church. If a volunteer doesn't use disposable pan or pot to bring food, those can be picked up at the church the following Saturday at noon.
Volunteers are also needed to assist with meal delivery by picking up meals at the church on Saturday and dropping them off at the families' homes.
Time/Date:
Once a month on a Friday, meal drop off is between12 p.m.-4 p.m.
Once a month on a Saturday, meal pick up and delivery is between 12 p.m.-5 p.m.
