Interpretive Services Volunteer — Pinnacles National Park

Share your knowledge and help visitors discover Pinnacles!

Do you enjoy learning about the plants, animals, landscape, and geography of Pinnacles National Park—and sharing what you know with others? The Pinnacles National Park Foundation is seeking volunteers to provide interpretive services at the Bear Gulch Nature Center.

With limited Park staffing, volunteers play an important role in helping visitors get oriented, learn about the Park, and enjoy their visit. As an Interpretive Services Volunteer, you’ll welcome visitors, answer questions, and share your knowledge of Pinnacles’ plants, animals, geology, geography, and natural history. You’ll also provide many of the basic visitor services that help make a visit to Pinnacles go smoothly, including directing visitors to trails and handing out Junior Ranger books and badges.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys Pinnacles and is eager to share its natural wonders with visitors. Training and support will be provided by park staff and experienced volunteers.

Weekend availability is especially helpful. Volunteers should be able to travel to and arrive at Pinnacles’ East Entrance (off of Highway 25, south of Hollister) before 9 a.m. Ideally, volunteers at the Nature Center would be available from approximately 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., but half-day availability is helpful as well.
