About NAEHD: The National Alliance on Ending Health Disparities (NAEHD) is a newly established organization with a mission to support and empower individuals, healthcare professionals, and decision makers through research, education, and advocacy efforts to eliminate health disparities in all communities. NAEHD aims to serve as a collective voice for all stakeholders, ensuring that everyone with a vested interest has a seat at the table and an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to our mission in an effort to end health disparities.

About the Vice Chair/President’s role: The purpose of this leadership role is to support the Chair/President and Founder/CEO in advancing the organization’s mission. This Vice Chair/President must also step into a leadership role when necessary and take on key initiatives to help broaden the organization’s impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Co-lead board meetings alongside the president and assists in ensuring effective organizational governance and decision-making.
• Assist the President in overseeing board operations and strategic planning.
• Contribute to organizational initiatives, including projects and events, by providing leadership and support as needed.
• Acts as President when the President is unavailable.

Time Commitment: The expectation is that the Vice Chair/President will commit to between 5-10 hours a month while the organization is still in growing. This also includes time for required board meetings, co-leading strategic discussions, and some representation of the organization at external events. The Vice Chair/President’s contributions in the early stages are critical to helping shape the organization’s future growth and success.

Ideal Qualifications:

• Strong Leadership and organizational skills
• Experience in non-profit leadership or healthcare is a plus
• A commitment to the mission of eliminating health disparities
• A healthcare professional (Doctor, Nurse, or Practitioner)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with board members, staff, leadership, and stakeholders to advance the mission.
