Veteran Support Volunteers

Gentiva Hospice is looking for US. Military Veterans or Active Duty volunteers 18 years old and up to provide support to Veterans with life limiting conditions and their caregivers. Veteran-to-Veteran Support Volunteers provide a bond to other Veterans like no one else can. America's Veterans have done everything asked of them in their mission. It is our mission to serve those that have served us. We believe that is never too late to give them a hero's welcome home! How you serve and how often is completely up to you! Here are a few examples of how our Veterans-to-Veterans Support Volunteers serve:

• Provide companionship, emotional support and camaraderie to fellow Veterans.
• Provide respite (sitting with the Veteran/patient while the caregiver runs errands.
• Run errands for the Veteran and their caregiver.
• Assist Veterans in enrolling and accessing VA benefits if needed.
• Participate in our Veterans recognition and pinning ceremonies.
• Assist in replacing of lost medals and awards.

You choose how you want to serve and how often.

NO Medical experience needed as a volunteer DO NOT perform nursing duties or dispense medications.
