At Caretenders Hospice, we understand that volunteers are an integral part of end-of-life care. Our volunteers make connections with those who need a hand to hold, a heart to listen, or have a story to share.
"Our fingerprints don't fade from the lives we touched."-Judy Blume
Volunteer companions provide our residents with social and emotional support. During visits, volunteers participate in activities with the residents such as reading the newspaper or books, taking walks, listening to music, sharing stories and reminiscing, or providing friendship by simply being present in their lives at that moment.
Caretenders Hospice serves people residing in their own residence, which may include private homes, skilled nursing facilities, assisted and independent living communities, and memory care units. We have volunteer positions open in the North Oaks area!
Most of our volunteers spend 1-2 hours of their time each week building up relationships with their patients. Visit times are flexible and individualized to what is best for the resident as well as the volunteer. We also provide volunteers with all the training they may need as well as any additional support our volunteers may need!
Our Volunteer Manager, Dana, looks forward to hearing from you and help you start on your journey with being a companion to someone who needs it the most.
