Role Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic Marketing "Director" (Volunteer) to help amplify our impact through thoughtful content, creative engagement, and strategic communication. This role is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing, social media, content creation, and community outreach to build a strong portfolio or CV.

Key Responsibilities

Content & Social Media

• Maintain and grow our social media presence across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.).
• Create engaging, mission-driven content (posts, graphics, stories, reels, promotions).
• Develop a regular content calendar and proactively pitch content ideas tied to our events, volunteer spotlights, donor thank-yous, and community impact stories.

Website & Digital Presence

• Update and optimize content on the Welcome Friends website as needed (events, news, volunteer needs, impact stories).
• Suggest improvements for site structure, messaging, and user experience.

Fundraising Support

• Promote fundraising campaigns and help craft compelling appeals.
• Identify opportunities for digital fundraising (e.g., Giving Tuesday, peer-to-peer campaigns, partnerships).
• Track engagement and provide recommendations to improve reach and results.

Volunteer & Community Engagement

• Highlight volunteer needs creatively to attract community participation.
• Assist in crafting email newsletters or supporter communications.
• Monitor online engagement and respond to inquiries or comments in a timely, friendly manner.

Strategy & Analytics

• Track social media analytics and website performance.
• Share insights with leadership and recommend strategies to increase engagement and visibility.
• Research trends and best practices in digital marketing for nonprofits.
