Street Outreach Leads are responsible for overseeing a team of street outreach volunteers each week to walk the streets in known "hotspots" and other areas where youth congregate, in order to distribute food, clothing, hygiene products, resource information, and referrals.
Must be reliable, able to listen, make decisions and communicate well. Street Outreach Leads must be on-time with the necessary supplies and must be patient with good relationship skills. Street outreach start times vary between 4:00pm in the winter to 6:00pm in the heat of the summer. Outreach in an area is usually 1 hour to 1.5 hours.
Must be able to meet young people where they are without judgement, be accessible at consistent times each week in order to build relationships with homeless youth, and help ensure they get connected to other programs we provide, as well as important community resources that we trust.
