Position Title: Volunteer Staff Member
Position Summary:
As a Volunteer Staff Member for Young Men of Distinction, you will play a vital role in supporting the organization's mission to empower and guide young men. You will work alongside program leaders and other volunteers to create a positive and supportive environment, helping to facilitate workshops, events, and day-to-day activities. Your dedication will directly contribute to the personal and academic growth of our participants, helping them build self-confidence, a strong character, and the skills needed to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Support: Assist with the planning, setup, and execution of workshops, mentoring sessions, and special events.
- Mentorship: Serve as a positive role model for young men, offering encouragement, and providing a stable, reliable presence.
- Administrative Support: Help with administrative tasks such as organizing program materials, managing sign-in sheets, and coordinating communication with participants and families.
- Event Assistance: Assist in managing logistics for community service projects, college tours, and fundraising events.
- General Support: Be a flexible and proactive team member, ready to assist with various needs to ensure the smooth operation of our programs.
Qualifications:
- A passion for youth development and a commitment to the mission of Young Men of Distinction.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Reliable, responsible, and punctual.
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
- Experience working with youth is a plus, but not required.
