    Join Our Team!

Are you passionate about global affairs, human rights, and social justice? Want to contribute to a youth-led collective shedding light on critical underreported issues? Spheres of Influence is currently recruiting for various volunteer positions. This is an ideal opportunity for students, recent graduates, and young professionals to gain a meaningful experience in the field of international relations and journalism. Please note that we are entirely volunteer-based and that applicants must be within the youth age range (typically 18–35), in alignment with our organization’s identity as youth-led.

We are seeking a motivated and creative Social Media Coordinator to support and grow our digital presence and help amplify underreported global affairs stories. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about journalism, storytelling, and digital engagement, has experience or interest in global affairs, politics, and news, and wants hands-on experience learning and building skills in social media, marketing, and journalism in a mission-driven, youth-led publication.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead the day-to-day management of Spheres of Influence’s social media presence across platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
    • Share and publish Spheres of Influence articles across social media platforms, selecting compelling hooks, angles, and framing to keep audiences engaged and informed.
    • Create engaging and relevant social media content, and assist in planning and implementing social media campaigns to promote events, recruitment, special projects, and editorial series.
    • Monitor social media activity, audience response, and current events to inform posting decisions.
    • Engage with audiences by responding to comments and messages and fostering thoughtful discussion.
    • Support newsletter promotion and content sharing across platforms (as needed).
    • Support the development and maintenance of the publication’s brand voice, ensuring consistency across all platforms.

    Qualifications:

    • Strong interest in journalism, global affairs, social justice, or media.
    • Experience managing or contributing to social media accounts (personal, academic, or organizational).
    • Proficiency with Canva for creating social media graphics.
    • Familiarity with major social media platforms and trends (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
    • Experience or interest in newsletters and digital audience engagement (e.g., Mailchimp, Campayn, or similar tools is an asset).
    • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate within a remote, global team.

This is a volunteer and fully remote position, requiring 4-6 hours per week. To apply, please send your resume and cover letter to info@spheresofinfluence.ca. The application deadline is April 17th, 2026.
