Pro Bono Attorney — Help a Growing Community Kitchen Build a Strong Foundation Organization / Pro Bono Professional Services
Descripción
Descripción
The Gracefull Table Community Kitchen is a growing nonprofit organization providing free, freshly prepared meals and restaurant-style hospitality to people experiencing food insecurity and neighbors in need in Garland, Texas.
As our organization grows, we want to make sure we're building it responsibly from the beginning.
We're seeking a licensed attorney interested in providing pro bono legal guidance to our Founder, Executive Director, and Board of Directors as we develop our programs, partnerships, policies, and long-term operations.
This is not intended to be a full-time or high-volume commitment. We're looking for a trusted legal professional who believes in our mission and is willing to provide guidance in their areas of expertise when appropriate.
We understand that no attorney practices in every area of law. We're happy to work with someone whose experience covers only part of our needs and who can help us recognize when specialized outside counsel may be necessary.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an attorney who:
- Is currently licensed and in good standing to practice law
- Has an interest in nonprofit or community-based work
- Is comfortable providing practical guidance to a small, growing organization
- Communicates legal considerations in a way that nonprofit leadership and board members can understand
- Is willing to clearly identify matters outside their area of expertise
- Believes in using their professional skills to strengthen their community
Experience with Texas nonprofit law, nonprofit governance, contracts, charitable organizations, risk management, employment law, or small-business matters would be especially helpful.
