Join Our Board of Directors! We seek passionate individuals to join our board and help advance our mission of equipping communities with resources and support to build pathways to prevent substance misuse and promote safety and lasting well-being.

Ideal candidates bring expertise in one or more of the following areas: finance, technology, non-profit legal matters, research and evaluation, or social enterprise.

We are committed to ensuring diverse voices are represented on our board. We strongly encourage applications from individuals who bring unique perspectives, including those who identify as Latin/Hispanic, Middle Eastern/North African, transgender, nonbinary, or other underrepresented groups. We also welcome candidates of all ages, including young leaders (18-24) and seasoned professionals (75+), veterans, people with disabilities, people with lived experience, and individuals living in rural communities to apply.

As a board member, you can contribute your expertise to help shape innovative programs and solutions and gain valuable experience in governance and social impact. The Board conducts quarterly 2-hour meetings (a virtual option is available) and, at most, 3-5 hours of committee work per quarter.

Learn more about our programs and services by touring our website. If you are interested in serving on our dynamic board, send a letter of interest to CEO Karel Homrig at karel.homrig@prevention.org. The letter of interest should describe how your qualifications align with the board service opportunity and why you are interested in serving on Prevention First’s Board. The deadline to submit a letter of interest is March 31, 2025.
