Women’s Giving Council (WGC) – Volunteer Role
The Women’s Giving Council is an exclusive, cross-industry network of senior executive leaders, philanthropists, and advocates dedicated to advancing equity and dismantling the cycle of intergenerational incarceration.
This Council is designed for visionary leaders who understand the direct correlation between expanding opportunities for children and families most impacted by systemic inequities and strengthening New York City’s long-term prosperity.
Why this council?
Moments of crisis demand bold leadership. The recent passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) threatens to dismantle lifelines that families depend on, including SNAP (food assistance), Medicaid, mental health supports, and after-school programs.
For children of incarcerated parents, already navigating systemic inequities, the consequences are immediate and critical.
That's why CPNYC is launching the ONE MILLION EMERGENCY RESPONSE CAMPAIGN to deliver direct cash assistance to families, beginning with back-to-school stabilization and extending through Thanksgiving and the holiday season. This strategy is immediate, pragmatic, and proven effective.
The Women’s Giving Council will provide key leadership within these life-changing efforts and beyond.
