Board of Directors Recruitment
Agape National Academy of Music Inc (ANAM Georgia) invites experienced, mission-aligned leaders to stand for nomination to its Board of Directors during a foundational growth phase.
ANAM Georgia is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit expanding access to free, high-quality, culturally responsive music education integrated with academic support, social-emotional learning, and family engagement for underserved children and families across Metro Atlanta.
In 2025, ANAM Georgia served 33 children, engaged 19 families, and was supported by 21 volunteers through its inaugural Music Discovery initiative. As programming expands, the Board is intentionally evaluating its composition to ensure balanced expertise, strong community representation, and strategic capacity for long-term growth.
Board Composition and Strategic Focus
ANAM Georgia currently benefits from strengths in:
• Music education expertise
• Youth development and academic leadership
• Nonprofit finance and accounting oversight
• Strategic and consulting leadership
To support the next stage of development, the Board is prioritizing recruitment in the following areas:
• Fundraising and development leadership
• Georgia-based nonprofit legal expertise
• Corporate CSR or sponsorship leadership
• Metro Atlanta school district relationships
• Church network expansion
• Representation from African American, immigrant, and refugee communities
Candidates will be considered based on how their experience strengthens the overall balance and strategic capacity of the Board.
Priority Candidate Profiles
While all qualified leaders aligned with our mission are welcome to express interest, the Board is especially seeking individuals who align with one or more of the following profiles:
Fundraising / Development Executive
• Experience in grant strategy, major donor cultivation, or philanthropic advising
• Strong Atlanta philanthropic or corporate network
• Willingness to actively support fundraising initiatives
Georgia-Based Nonprofit Attorney
• Expertise in nonprofit governance and compliance
• Familiarity with Georgia nonprofit law
• Understanding of child protection and regulatory requirements
Church or Education Network Leader
• Pastor, worship leader, or church network connector across Metro Atlanta
OR
• School district administrator or K–5 education leader
• Strong community credibility and leadership presence
Board Member Responsibilities
Board members serve as fiduciary stewards and strategic partners to the Executive Director. Core responsibilities include governance and long-term strategy, financial oversight, fundraising engagement, and serving as ambassadors within churches, schools, and the broader community.
Board members serve a three-year term.
Board members are expected to:
• Attend quarterly board meetings (virtual-friendly)
• Serve on at least one committee
• Contribute approximately 4–8 hours per month
• Demonstrate annual financial commitment
• Actively support fundraising efforts
• Uphold duties of care, loyalty, and obedience
Board Committees
Finance – Budget oversight and fiscal governance
Strategic Planning – Long-term direction and performance metrics
Programs – Program quality and evaluation
Fundraising/Marketing – Development strategy and brand visibility
Nomination Process
Individuals interested in serving will be invited to stand for nomination. Standing for nomination indicates willingness to be formally considered through the organization’s governance process. Final selection is determined by Board vote to ensure alignment with strategic priorities and balanced board composition.
