JOB DESCRIPTION

Beloveds Foundation is recruiting volunteers for a Web Content Manager to assist us with reshaping our website, updating various components and assist as needed. This is a volunteer position that can be modified to fit the volunteer’s scheduled. This role requires a bit of work upfront to help redesign our website but ultimately, the role will only require 2hrs or so a month of maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Complete duties as assigned;
• Work directly with other volunteers
• Report issues to the Executive Director, preferably with options on resolutions and a clear understanding of the concerns and their respective impact
• Provide web content design support using WordPress
• Provide suggestions on improved web design and structure
• Assist with implementing a new merchandise store portal and an online inventory system

OVERVIEW & ADDITIONAL NOTES

Beloveds has a website that needs to be updated with various components, including a new inventory system that allows our partners to shop online and a merchandise store. The current platform that is being used in Wordpress and was designed by a local vendor that provides with additional assistance as needed. Both the merchandise store and online inventory system will be embedded apps on the portal. This role is only intended to help build out the embedded framework and not to manage the merchandise store or the inventory system. Those will be handled by other volunteers and associates.

This role will be working closely with the Executive Director to ensure we have appropriate presence, ease of use and sponsor as much funding as possible. If the person who is selected in this role is junior in web design, we are happy to help facilitate further education, as improving skills is important to our volunteer retention.
