    Glasshouse Biome Clean-up

Join us at our Cleveland Botanical Garden campus to do a semi-extreme makeover in our Eleanor Smith Glasshouse biomes. These amazing spaces are packed with exotic plants, trees and animals - and they need a little love to keep them healthy. Biome Clean-up activities include raking leaves and removing debris from beds, wiping down vents, helping repair screens and more. No prior experience necessary!

This special ALL PLAY Day at HF&G works for individuals ages 14-25, small groups, and families with children ages 8 and up! ALL PLAY Days at Holden Forests & Gardens are when we host one-time volunteer activities that are open to anyone, whether you are an active volunteer with us or not! It’s an opportunity to help the environment, make new friends, try out volunteering for us and hopefully, have a little fun! Plus, you get the benefit of free parking and free admission before or after volunteering so you can enjoy our remarkable forests & gardens.

    Here are the details:

    • WHEN: Sunday, January 25, 9:30am-12:00pm.
    • WHERE: Cleveland Botanical Garden at 11030 East Boulevard. Volunteers can park in our attached parking garage (the entrance is off of Wade Oval). Just follow the signs when you arrive!
    • WEAR: Volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes. Work will be done inside, and layers are recommended as the Glasshouse climates are warm and dry for one biome, and warm and humid/wet for the other! Volunteers who are not dressed in proper attire will be turned away.
    • WHAT TO BRING: Please bring a water bottle. All tools and gloves are provided.
    • WHAT ELSE: All volunteers are required to read and sign our Volunteer Waiver & Agreement. Volunteers age 18+ can print it out to bring with them or sign a paper copy that will be available at the work site. IMPORTANT: Volunteers under age 18 MUST print the waiver, have a parent/guardian complete both sides, and bring the completed waiver with them in order to volunteer. Volunteers ages 8-13 MUST have an adult volunteer with them during this activity. NO EXCEPTIONS.
