We are seeking engaged, mission-aligned professionals with backgrounds in accounting, finance, law, or compliance to join our Board of Directors. These board members will play a critical role in ensuring the legal, ethical, and financial integrity of Lillie’s Home as we grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide fiduciary oversight of organizational finances and compliance practices
- Review and interpret budgets, financial statements, and audits
- Ensure proper internal controls, risk management, and ethical practices
- Offer legal or financial guidance related to contracts, employment, governance, and regulatory obligations
- Assist in reviewing or drafting policies (e.g., conflict of interest, financial procedures, data privacy)
- Participate in quarterly board meetings (virtual or in-person)
- Support strategic planning, fundraising, and community engagement efforts as needed
- Act as an ambassador for Lillie’s Home within your networks and the broader Northeast Ohio community
Ideal Qualifications
- A background in law, accounting, auditing, nonprofit finance, tax, or compliance
- Licensed CPA, JD, or equivalent professional credential preferred (not required)
- Prior board experience is a plus but not required
- Commitment to the mission, vision, and trauma-informed values of Lillie’s Home
- Willingness to contribute time, expertise, and resources to advance the organization
