Carpe Librum is a used bookstore benefiting Turning the Page, an education nonprofit dedicated to developing literacy programs for elementary and middle school students in Wards 7 and 8. We will be popping up in Georgetown for fundraising book sales through 2026: Sundays, September 6, October 4, November 1, and December 6. We will need volunteers to help us set up in the morning and box up in the afternoon. This is a great opportunity to spend an hour or two supporting literacy and positive educational outcomes in the DC public school students.
Can you lend a hand?
The first shift is from 9 am-10:30 am, helping to set up tables and shelve books by genre.
The second shift is from 4:30 pm-6:00 pm, helping to pack up books.
If interested, sign up and we will reach out with more details. Thank you!
(By the way, we’re not just any bookstore: we’re a fundraising bookstore! Carpe Librum collects donated books, CDs, and DVDs to support the DC nonprofit Turning the Page.)
