Community Markets Inc. is in need of weekly volunteers for the St. Isidore Market, a weekly local food access market held in Charles Town, WV. This market brings products from local farmers to a single accessible location to increase affordable access to fresh and nutritious food. The market runs every Thursday from 5:00-6:30 PM. Volunteers are needed for setup starting around 3:00 PM, to assist during the market, and to help close down the market until about 7:00 PM. During the market, volunteer positions include: service at the table/cash register, retrieving and carrying orders for customers, and assembling orders in, and handing out orders from, a refrigerated trailer.
Volunteers are invited to arrive at either 3:00 or 4:15 and may be needed as late as 7:00. However, any amount of time that can be donated is welcome!
All Volunteers are advised that they may need to bend down and lift up to 20 pounds. Some roles may require volunteers to lift more.
Minors may volunteer provided that they have a parent or guardian accompanying them who is responsible for the minor whilst volunteering.
