Do you play an accoustic guitar or any other stringed instrument? Maybe a keyboard or wind instrument like a clarinet? Can you sing? If you answered yes to any of these questions James River Hospice, Fredericksburg is looking for you!
James River Hospice Fredericksburg needs skillful Musical Volunteers to visit a patient they will be assigned to in and around the Fredersburg area to softly play music or quietly sing for their patient. James River Hospice Fredericksburg covers a 50 mile radius surrounding the area. We have a patient close to where you live or work. Musical Volunteers visit their patient a minimum of 3 times a month for at least one hour per visit to provide socialization, comfort and support through music.
To become a James River Hospice Musical Volunteer, you must be 18 years of age or older. We will pay for your two-step TB test, drug screen and background check. All potential Musical Volunteers need to audition (to show off yur musical chops!). We will train you and match you with a patient who will be very glad to have you in their life. Within 48 hours of your last visit or contact you must send your visit notes to your Volunteer Coordinator.
