    About Us

    At the Center for Free, Fair, and Accountable Democracy (CFFAD), we help Americans discover how democracy in our republic has value in their lives, why it is set up as it is, how it has changed over time, and why it is worth defending and improving.

    Our board and our volunteers are drawn from the right, left, and center. All are unpaid. Most of the board has experience with US civics programs or with demcoracy promotion overseas.

    Opportunities & Responsibilities

    • With your research skills, you can help us better understand and serve our audience: how to find them, how to reach them, how to catch their attention, and how to improve our approach to civics in ways that will be useful to them.
    • You will have opportunities to collaborate with our board members and volunteers: most of our work is inter-related and mutually supporting.

    Commitment

    • 2-5 hours per week
    • Duration is open-ended. If you are a student, we would appreciate a minimum commitment of at least 1 semester.
    • Team planning meetings every other week or as-needed.
    • Willingness to work virtually via Zoom, email, and other forms of electronic communication.
    • Willingness and ability to prioritize the mission of CFFAD;
    • Strong commitment to Non-Partisan Behavior while assisting or representing CFFAD;
    • Willingness to work with and rely upon other volunteers from diverse backgrounds;
    • Willingness to attend any initial orientation or training.

    Qualifications

    • Relevant education or experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research for other organizations.
    • Good at problem-solving and creative thinking;
    • Self-starter, works responsively with minimal supervision;
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
    • Ability to conduct statistical analyses and tests.
