    About Mentor A Promise

Mentor A Promise is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting young people experiencing housing instability through mentorship, educational support, and community-based programs. As the organization expands its programs, communications, publishing initiatives, campaigns, and mission-driven products, we are building the leadership and operating structure needed to support that growth.

    Role Overview

Mentor A Promise (MAP) is seeking an experienced Technical Training Content Creator to join PromiseShield (Manage IT, Security & Privacy) and design, develop, and publish technical training materials, end-user guides, and instructional videos for our digital platforms.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can translate complex IT procedures, cloud workflows, and security protocols into engaging, accessible, and user-friendly educational content for technical and non-technical volunteers.

The successful candidate will be a skilled instructional designer or technical communicator with a passion for building clear, actionable training documentation and digital learning assets.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design and produce comprehensive training guides, video tutorials, and step-by-step documentation for Google Workspace, ITSM tools, and internal IT platforms.
    • Develop interactive e-learning modules, onboarding guides, and self-service knowledge base articles for staff and volunteer community members.
    • Translate technical IT procedures, security guidelines, and software workflows into engaging, easy-to-understand educational content.
    • Establish standardized templates, brand alignment, and structural formatting across all PromiseShield training materials and knowledge bases.
    • Collaborate with the Google Workspace Manager, ITSM Manager, and Cybersecurity teams to continuously update documentation as software configurations evolve.
    • Evaluate end-user feedback and helpdesk inquiry trends to identify skill gaps and create targeted micro-learning resources.
    • Maintain a centralized repository of training media, user manuals, and technical SOPs for easy discovery and navigation.

    Qualifications

    Strong candidates will bring:

    • Proven experience in technical writing, instructional design, or training content creation within an IT or SaaS environment.
    • Strong proficiency with technical documentation tools, screen-recording and video editing software (e.g., Loom, Camtasia, Canva, or similar), and Knowledge Base platforms.
    • Solid understanding of core cloud tools, specifically Google Workspace applications and general IT service management concepts.
    • Exceptional written and visual communication skills with an ability to simplify technical jargon for diverse audiences.
    • Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple content creation projects from concept to publication.

Experience in one or more of the following areas is especially valuable:

    • Nonprofit or mission-driven organizations
    • Education or youth-focused organizations
    • Experience designing digital onboarding materials for remote volunteer communities
    • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or modern digital publishing suites

    Working Relationships

The Technical Training Content Creator reports to the Director - IT and works closely with the Google Workspace Manager, ITSM Platform Manager, Systems Administrators, and division leads across Mentor A Promise.
