    Volunteer Student Coordinator

Help Strengthen Free Expression and Civil Dialogue on Campus

Public discourse is increasingly polarized. Many students feel hesitant to speak openly, and meaningful dialogue across differences is becoming harder to sustain.

The Institute for Democratic Discourse is building a nonpartisan effort to strengthen the culture of free expression and civil dialogue on campuses nationwide. We believe democratic discourse requires more than laws — it requires students willing to lead.

We are seeking a motivated student to help expand campus engagement and connect with student organizations across the country. This is an opportunity to help shape a growing national nonprofit and play a direct role in strengthening democratic culture.

    What You’ll Do

      • Connect with student leaders and organizations
      • Help coordinate outreach and campus initiatives
      • Support programming focused on free expression and dialogue
      • Contribute ideas and strategy to grow student engagement

    Who This Is For

      • Students who care deeply about free speech and civic dialogue
      • Individuals comfortable engaging across diverse viewpoints
      • Self-starters who want meaningful leadership experience

    Why Volunteer?

      • Real responsibility in a mission-driven nonprofit
      • Mentorship and leadership development
      • The chance to help build something that matters

If you believe democratic discourse is worth protecting — and strengthening — we’d love to hear from you.

Submit your resume and a brief statement (250–500 words) describing why open dialogue on campus matters to you. Email: institute@democraticdiscourse.org
