    Who We Are

Human Rights Research Center (HRRC) is an established nonprofit start-up that brings a multidisciplinary approach to human rights and seeks to bridge the gap between academic research and the wider public. We educate through facts, advocate using our research findings, and take action to implement change.

    Who You Are

You are a passionate human rights advocate with strong legal research and analysis skills. Whether working independently or collaboratively, you thrive in fluid start-up environments and approach projects with curiosity, rigor, and a commitment to equity. You communicate clearly, contribute thoughtful feedback, and seek ways to shape real-world impact through legal insight.

    What You’ll Do

    • Conduct legal and legislative research related to global human rights violations
    • Monitor policies and legislation with HRRC’s advocacy and management teams, proposing strategies for reform
    • Draft research reports, policy briefs, public letters, media releases, and op-eds
    • Apply legal research methods to casework and advocacy initiatives
    • Exceptional contributors may take the lead on targeted legal issues or assist in advocacy strategy development

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated interest in international human rights and legal advocacy
    • Advanced legal training or academic background (JD, LLM, or equivalent) preferred
    • Strong research, writing, and critical analysis skills
    • Familiarity with human rights-related legal systems and frameworks
    • Experience with legal or legislative research methods
    • Ability to work independently, meet flexible deadlines, and adapt to remote collaboration
    • Fluency in languages other than English is a plus but not required

    Compensation and Commitment

This is a volunteer, virtual opportunity with an expectation of at least one research project per month. A minimum six-month time commitment is required to maintain continuity and project impact.
