Volunteer with OPB! Columbia River Gorge Event Assistant (Hood River/White Salmon)

Be part of the team that brings OPB special events to the Columbia River Gorge!

Are you passionate about storytelling, art, journalism and/or community engagement? OPB is looking for friendly volunteers in The Dalles, Hood River, White Salmon, Cascade Locks, and surrounding areas to help with local events throughout the year.

Volunteer opportunities include:

• Assisting at OPB events such as screenings, live recordings, performances, and community gatherings (1–3 event opportunities per year)
• Representing OPB while tabling at The Dalles Farmers Market from June–October
• Greeting guests, answering questions, collecting raffle entries, and helping with event setup and teardown

We're looking for people who are:

• Friendly and reliable
• Comfortable talking with a variety of community members
• Flexible and able to adapt in busy event environments

Time commitment:

• Special event shifts are typically 3–5 hours
• Opportunities vary throughout the year
