NorthStar Home Hospice is locally owned and operated and we are dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care that honors the dignity and wishes of our patients and their families.

As a friendly visitor volunteer, you have an amazing opportunity to give a few hours of your time each month to make a difference for hospice patients living in their own homes or long-term care facilities throughout Greater Cincinnati, including the Mason area.

Being a hospice volunteer is profoundly rewarding and there is no medical or personal care involved.

Some of the ways YOU can make a difference...

• Providing companionship
• Reading aloud to the patient or listening to music together
• Looking at photos together and sharing memories (life review)
• Sitting with a patient so caregivers have free time (respite)
• Journaling or scrapbooking (helping the patient record their history)
• Watching movies or playing games
• Simply being present

We provide ongoing support, comprehensive volunteer orientation and training, as well as screenings, at no cost to you. Once you complete your orientation and screenings, we will strive to assign you close to home or work, based on your schedule and availability.
