Sports Coach Volunteer

Sustainable Bolivia is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in the Bolivian Amazon that partners with local initiatives to provides resources that support ecotourism, regenerative agriculture, health and education. Volunteers live on Aquicuana on our research base and assist us with our work in the community of Warnes.

SB currently runs an afterschool program in the community of Warnes, but we do not currently run any sports programs. The community would appreciate a coach coming in to work on skills and team work with the children. SB will organize with the community to arrange time and places, but the volunteer needs to have the skills to run the sessions on their own.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum commitment of 1 month
• Basic Spanish- must be able to communicate easily with the kids
• Experience working with youth preferred
• Patience and flexibility, ablity to work with little supervision
• Due to the large proportion of boys males are especially encouraged to apply
• Experience coaching sports, specifically soccer (football)

LOGISTICS:

Volunteers are expected to work on weekdays during the afternoons, with prep being completed in the mornings. Depending on what the preferences of the community are, the volunteer may be expected to work Saturday, in which case Sunday and Monday would be the days off.
