Volunteer Medical Screener - La Crosse County
Medical Screener volunteers join the blood collections staff to ensure timely processing of donors at blood drives. Medical Screeners collect and confirm donor demographics and health histories, determine procedure eligibility, and conduct physical exams (oral temperature, pulse, blood pressure). This position provides you with the opportunity to validate your training and skills at a nationally recognized organization while providing service to your community.
Responsibilities:
Time Commitment: minimum of two shifts per month after training commitment.
Training: Orientation to the Red Cross, virtual, classroom and on the job instruction. All training provided free of charge.
Training will be 40 hours per week for 4 consecutive weeks through a combination of both virtual and in-person training. Please ensure your schedule can accommodate 4 consecutive weeks of training.
Qualifications: No medical background necessary.
