Volunteer Coordinator (Hybrid – Shoreline, WA Area)
The Volunteer Coordinator helps recruit, onboard, and organize volunteers supporting Art For All programs and events. This is primarily a remote volunteer position, but applicants should be located in or near Shoreline, WA for occasional in-person meetings or events.
This role is flexible and expected to average a few hours per week, depending on current programs and volunteer needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Recruiting and communicating with prospective volunteers
- Helping develop systems and processes for volunteer onboarding and communication
- Reviewing volunteer applications and assisting with background checks and vetting
- Coordinating volunteer scheduling and organization
- Supporting volunteer engagement and retention
Art For All staff provide all on-site training for volunteers assisting in classes and events serving adults with developmental and physical disabilities. Previous experience working with people with disabilities is not required. We are looking for someone with an open mind and a genuine interest in building a more inclusive community for differently abled individuals.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong organizational and written communication skills
- Experience coordinating, training, or leading others
- Ability to recruit, motivate, and support volunteers
- Comfortable balancing big-picture planning with operational details
- Dependable, proactive, and able to work independently
